What to Look for in a Service Company

A good plumbing and heating company will:
  • Present themselves in a professional manner
  • Proudly display their name and license on their trucks (license number must be there by law)
  • Arrive in clean, presentable, and stocked trucks to serve your needs
  • Listen to your questions and present you with your options and costs
  • Employees are background checked and drug tested
  • Provide top quality service, premium products, and fair and honest pricing
  • Have their technicians certified by the manufacturer, if required
  • Do they hold the proper licenses, comply with building codes, and have insurance
At First Choice Home Services, LLC we consider coming to your home a privilege.
  • Our technicians are clean, neat, and courteous.
  • We believe that less disruption to you is important and come prepared to complete most jobs in one visit.
  • We know that repeat business and referrals are the best way to grow our business, and to that end, satisfying you is our #1 concern.
  • You deserve quality work and a quality product – this is why we only supply materials that we feel are premium quality.
  • All our service personnel are fully licensed
Why a Licensed Plumber?
Connecticut state law says that an unlicensed person cannot work by themselves. They must have supervision to perform plumbing or heating services. Before allowing anyone to work in your home, ask for their state trade license to verify that it is current, and check it against their driver’s license to verify that is the person in your home. A licensed plumber should hold a P-2 (Journeyman) or P-1 (Master) license and have it with them.

Similar licensing is required for Piping, Heating and Cooling contractors.

Also, if you are considering high efficiency products, such as on-demand water heaters, high efficiency water heaters, or boilers, most manufacturers require that the installer be factory trained and certified to properly install and maintain their products. You can contact the manufacturer directly to check on any certification requirements they may have. It is in your best interest to do this, as it may affect your warranty and the best operation of the product you are paying someone to install.
